A Walk Down Smoke Alley
It was a calm, but eerie Sunday afternoon as Elanor made her way down the cobble streets of Old London. All her life she had been told to avoid Smoke Alley at all costs for fear she would be exposed to all of the terrible monstrosities that lie in wait. Elanor was a prim and proper girl and had always intended to keep the promise she made to stay away, however the stakes were too high. Her older brother Jacob was ill, and the doctors were hoarding the medicine required for fear the rich would not have enough should they succumb to the same illness. The only known stockpile of medicine to still be available was on the lower docks of town. Construction in the area had made it so that the only pathway leading to that part of town was to cross through Smoke Alley. As soon as Elanor had managed to sneak away from her caretaker she made a hard sprint towards the alley. Before she had even crossed into the shadowy walkway she was already being met with evil grins and prying eyes.
